BioShield is dedicated to manufacturing solvent free
painting products from natural and easily-renewable
resources without adding harmful chemicals, toxins
or additives. Their lines of natural paints and faux
finishing products include:

Clay
Paint
BioShield’s clay paints are made from naturally occurring earth clays and
offer the look of aged adobe or plaster. Choose from an array of earth tones
and textures to great a soft natural look akin to real clay plaster or select
one of the brighter hues for a vibrant and spunky feel for your home.

Solvent
Free Wall Paint
BioShield’s solvent free matt or satin wall paint is easy to apply over
standard gypsum board, Sheetrock, plaster, masonry like concrete and brick, aand
previously flat sheen painted surfaces. And since they’re all VOC and solvent
free, you don’t need to worry about toxic chemicals off-gassing into the
air.

Wall
Glaze
BioShield’s Wall Glaze is a transparent water-based concentrate that can
be tinted with pigments for use as a color wash for walls. Alternatively, use
an even higher concentration to create an opaque paint or even a washable seal
over particularly dusty surfaces. If you use only apply one coat of the wall
glaze you’ll end up with a flat sheen; if you apply several goats the paint
will dry to a satin-like eggshell sheen.

Clay
Plaster
Bio-Shield’s Clay Plasters naturally absorb moisture and have anti-static
properties that help neutralize unpleasant odors. This topcoat veneer that can
be applied over any dry, plaster-appropriate substrate like uncoated masonry
surfaces like adobe, brick, cement, and even like new veneer plaster substrates
such as “blueboard” or US Gypsum’s Imperial Board®. Except
in the case of natural adobe, always apply the clay plaster over a coat of sanded
primer.

Kinder
Paint
Kinder Paint is entirely VOC-free so you don’t have to worry about dangerous
toxins and chemicals out-gassing chemicals into your child’s nursery or
bedroom.
Aqua
Resin Trim Enamel
This solvent-free, low odor, water-based, Zero VOC, low-drip, resilient satin
finish trim paint is ideal for both interior and exterior uses. It dries quickly
to form a wonderful sheen.
Casein
Milk Paint
BioShield Casein Paint comes as a dry powder that needs to be mixed with clean
water in a paint mixer to form an off-white paint. You can then add one of BioShield’s
Pigment Colors to create a perfect tint that works well on gypsum board, plaster,
wood and wooden furniture. Keep in mind that you’ll need to apply casein
paints in a cross-hatch pattern to ensure proper coverage.
Old Fashioned Milk Paint Company
This Old Fashioned Milk Paint Company has been making
chemically safe paints since 1974. Safepaint, their
nonporous latex wall paint, and the porous Milk Paint
are both organic bio-degradable, and have zero They’re
also free of lead, mercury, radioactive materials,
petroleum by-products, plastics, synthetic preservatives,
and strong odors, making them safe for pregnant women
and children.

Milk Paint
Add water to this powder of milk protein and
lime as well as one of 20 pigments to create
a perfect paint to be used on close-grained
hardwoods that aren’t particularly
porous. Be sure to use the Milk Paint primer
prior to use to ensure proper coverage.

Safe Paint
SafePaint is a new matte milk paint specifically
designed to be used on non-porous surfaces
like previously painted walls and new sheetrock.
Just as with traditional milk paint, you
create this paint by mixing water into a
powder of milk protein, lime and pigment.

Extra Bond
Mix this concentrated Zero-VOC polymer emulsion
with a first coat of Milk Paint to ensure
adhesion to porous surfaces.

Clear Coat
Clear Coat is a non-toxic water-based acrylic
finish that you can use as a top-coat over
Milk Paint to prevent water spotting and
scuffs. It dries to a clear and satin finish
that’s a fantastic choice woodwork
and furniture. Non-toxic.

Antique Crackle
Create an antique look on Milk Paint covered
surfaces with this natural non-toxic gelatin
product. Simply brush over the final coat
of paint for an instant crackled look.
Yolo ColorHouse
Yolo ColorHouse offers a line of premium, zero-VOC
paints for interior and exterior use.
Natural Earth Plasters
American Clay’s high end green finish is a perfect
substitute for traditional stucco. Because it is made
from natural clay, natural pigment and recycled and
reclaimed aggregate, American Clay decreases static
electricity and noise pollution in your home.
Harmony Interior Latex Coating by Sherwin Williams
Williams’ eco-friendly interior latex paint line
is VOC and solvent-free, making it a great choice for
nurseries, children’s’ rooms, or anyone
concerned about toxic chemicals.
AFM Safecoat
This 25-year old company is a leading provider of environmentally
responsible, sustainable and non-polluting paints,
stains, wood finishes, adhesives, and sealers. These
zero VOC paints are also free of any solvents, heavy
metals, chemical residuals, formaldehyde or other

Benjamin Moore’s line of low-VOC painting products,
