Alubin’s Seasons Windows are a sophisticated
window system that keeps cool air inside during summer
and warm air inside during winter, thus reducing your
property’s utility costs and increasing your
energy efficiency. This ventilated solar-screen glazing
system converts short-wave solar radiation to convective
heat and long wave radiation. Seasons Windows have
two modes for winter and summer use, both of which
use facing tinted and clear panes. In winter, the tinted
absorbing glass faces inwards. Short wave solar radiation
is transmitted through the clear glass, and is absorbed
by the tinted glass. Harmless long wave radiation is
emitted inwards from the warm tinted glass to heat
the interior room. The clear glass blocks outward radiation.
The warm tinted glass generates air movement in the
gap between the two glass panes to heat the area by
convection. In summer, however, the tinted glass faces
outwards. It absorbs the short wave solar radiation
and emits it both outwards and inwards. The clear glass
pane blocks inward radiation and the whole system is
cooled by outside air moving between the two panes.
The Alubin system ensures that direct exposure to solar
radiation doesn’t result in an uncomfortable
glare, over- or under-heating due to a high radiation
load, or fade interior furnishings.
